Here comes Peter Cottontail...

Last night, ABC and I went to Target and grabbed some dinner in between watching last weeks Grey's & Private Practice.
I drove and I always pull into their driveway and turn around (which is about an 85 point turn) and leave my car facing the road so I can just drive right out. You should know that I don't like their driveway. It isn't straight and it's got a bit of a hill from the road to the top. However, ABC's best friend got married over the weekend and left their car at ABC's instead of the airport since they are on their Honeymoon. Due to said car being in the "way", ABC said I should just back INTO the driveway. Umm, no! Instead, I pulled in and it's a good thing I did!

This is what we found:

So naturally we had a photo shoot with the little guy! Mind you, it was well over 9:00.

ABC was really into getting the best possible picture!

If you look closely you can see the "blob" of a bunny to the right of the tire. ABC's pointing to help you out.

After at least 5 minutes of talking to the bunny and taking its picture, we decided it was time to watch Private Practice. So, ABC heads to the door. She screams, arms flailing and runs. Naturally, I do the same (I wasn't even near the door...it was a reaction!) and ask her what's going on.

She almost stepped on this:

Yep...another bunny. Another photo shoot!

Instead of entering the house through the side door, we entered through the garage. Bunny never moved. We had visions of the garage door opening and bunnies hopping out. It didn't happen. We could see the bunny out the window of the side door and started thinking "it was REALLY windy/rainy/gross last night, wonder if these bunnies got taken away from their homes/families?" We knew we needed to do something!

So, despite what they find in the wilderness that is the backyard, ABC saved the day!

Yea, he wasn't too impressed!

Anyway, I still think it was one of the Easter Bunny's spies! :)

What I love about Sundays...

...really, I'm only posting about one of the things I LOVE about Sundays....

THE SUNDAY PAPER!

I have always been a lover of the Sunday paper. This love is in part for the color comics, in part for Parade and in part for the Target ad. But really, I'm in it for the COUPONS!

I love to clip coupons. I clip them for me. I clip them for friends. I clip them for my mom and I clip them for the family I used to nanny for (because let's face it, diapers are expensive, cold medicine is expensive and I don't eat certain cereals/snacks but they do and I just can't let a coupon go to waste!)

Normally, I clip the coupons and put them in a box. If I know I need something immediately and I've just clipped it, I won't put it in the box, I'll put it in my bag for when I go to the store. I pride myself on going through my coupon box before I go to the store to see if I have a coupon for anything on my list.

You must be told that I LOVE the words "sale" and "clearance" as much as "bogo" and "half off". I never let a coupon go to waste. Well, I take that back. I had to throw out some coupons because even though I love to buy paper towels and toilet paper when it's on sale and with a coupon, I currently have 2 unopened "bundles" of each (it's go bulk or go home with those products) and I just can't store another "bundle".

However, the amazingly smart and talented Jenny Lynn from http://grahamcrakas.blogspot.com/ (side note, I tried to make this a link using the link icon but it just didn't work...one day I'll be blog smart!) made a coupon binder a few posts ago and I decided to steal the idea!

So today, I went to Wal-Mart.

I searched the entire store and finally had to as the lady at the Customer Service desk where I could find baseball card holders. She told me to check back by the fish tanks. Genius! Because I was definitely thinking baseball cards belonged next to fish tanks and across from cat and dog food.

This is what I saw:

This is what I almost purchased:

looking back, this would've been super cool since it came with trading cards!

But then I saw these (the only pack mind you) just laying there waiting for me to take them home:

But first we said bye to the fish:

I came home and made this:

And organized it by food, cleaning products, personal hygiene and miscellaneous. I am PUMPED!

I really have nothing exciting to blog about but realized that my last post was almost a week ago. Yikes!

So here's a list of things I'm looking forward to over the next few weeks:

  • warm weather

That's it for now. Have a great day!

Bovine Adventures!

The other day before I went to work, ABC and I went on an adventure!
We had a plan.

We were on a mission!

We went to IKEA!

And found this chair:

Which was SO comfortable! My brother has the same chair and every time he moves out and is home for the summer, my Mom, brother and I "fight" over who gets to sit in it. We keep the chair in the playroom (which is really the computer room but growing up it was the playroom so it'll never change!) when he comes home and it's one of those chairs that you could just sit in to sit in! So cozy!

We found this table:

The table seats 6 but I would only need to use it to seat 4 so it saves on space! And it comes in a lighter color!

And I came home with nothing you see in the pictures!

I ended up buying 4 containers that are supposed to be for the kitchen but I'm using them for paper clips/thumb tacks and office like stuff. And ABC bought woodland creature cookie cutters!

That store herds ya around like cattle (which made us realize we needed to go to Chick fil A for lunch!)and we looked at so much that it was just overload. I did decide that I'm not going to purchase a table until I actually move in so that I don't have to worry about storage. The funny thing is, the Ikea trip's main purpose was to find a couch but all of the couches made me feel like a GIANT! They were all so small...so sad!

After Ikea we went to Hobby Lobby and can I just say how much I LOVE that store! I bought a few things for my bathroom to hang on the wall and bought flowers and a vase to make a centerpiece! Everything was 50% off so I was pumped! I'll post pictures in a few weeks when I put everything together...I just can't pass up a 50% sale when I know I'll buy the stuff anyway!

We headed to Costco after that. Sampled food. Bought a bag of carrots.

Ate said carrots on way to Christian Chicken.

Enjoyed lunch.

Asked stranger to take our picture with the cow.

yes, i realize this is "just" the cow...but it was dressed up. and cute. and you already saw us w/cow that we were afraid to pick up/hold for our photo op!

Had a great day.

Went to work.

Thought about kitchen tables and couches!

Signed, Sealed, Delivered!

Remember that New Years Resolution of mine....not the "be spontaneous" one...that worked for maybe 48 hours and then here and there!
The write more letters/send more cards one?!
WELL....

The United States Postal Service is going to LOVE me!

I'm even going to walk to the post office!

Where's the Beef?

The other night, ABC and I went to The Counter for dinner. We had planned on going to the Christian Chicken, but ABC went to The Counter Monday night and loved it so much we decided that I needed to try it too!

Well, I checked out the menu online, and now that I am addicted to fried pickles (thanks to my friend C, who introduced me to The Penguin), I couldn't wait to have some fried pickles!

This was the menu:

I liked it because there's essentially no way your order can be wrong! The funny thing is that you order fries/sweet potato fries/onion straws/fried pickles as a side but they come as an appetizer.

*I did decide that though the above pictured side was amazing because it wasn't greasy at all, the pickles were rather thick and not very greasy/salty which kind of took away from the taste. I think I'll stay true to the "take some napkins and sop up the grease" fried pickles at The Penguin!

This is what I ordered:

MMMM!!! A burger w/white cheddar cheese, pickles, lettuce and carrot straws. Cole slaw on the side and some ranch dressing for dipping! It was really good and I can't wait to go again and try something else!! Oh, and the Sweet Tea was great too!

Wednesday w/Words

I'm getting ready to move into a different apartment pretty soon.
On Monday, I had the day off so I picked up my friend ABC from the airport and brought her back to her house. Well, we decided to walk from her house to where my new apartment is! It's only a little over 2 miles, and it was gorgeous out so we decided to go for a walk. Well, as we looked at the new, empty, waiting for people to move-in, apartment, we both decided that some chairs for the porch were necessary.

I mentioned to ABC that I saw big, plastic, Adirondack chairs outside of Harris Teeter ON SALE! I told her I wanted to get them but didn't have anywhere to store them for a month. She offered to store them in her garage but said that they'd probably go on sale again and that I should just wait. She's sneaky like that! :)

Little did I know....

that ABC got the chairs for me for my birthday and had them in her garage!!!!

*sorry this picture is blurry...it was taken using my phone*

Well, after work yesterday, I went to ABC's house for dinner and we all watched last weeks Grey's & Private Practice. As I was leaving, ABC said she had to show me something in the garage. So, here I am, in ABC's garage, sitting in my new chair!!!!! They are BRIGHT PINK and so comfy! Yes, ABC and I sat in the chairs, in her garage, late last night discussing what it'll be like to sit in the sun in these chairs!

I am so excited!

College Friends

In college, I lived with S, who I live with now. The next year, S & K were roommates, but the 3 of us lived in the same suite because I was an RA. The year after that, S & K moved into an apartment 5 minutes from the apartment I moved into.

Well, K came to visit!!! I'm so excited for the 3 of us to hang out again! We haven't all been together since last May when K & I came to visit S. K is in Chapel Hill these days so it's not far away but it is so hard for the 3 of us to figure out when we have free schedules. Only the funny thing is, K is here, S has a meeting this morning, we'll all do lunch, I have to work this afternoon/tonight. Tomorrow S has morning plans, we'll all do church/brunch and I have to work.

Either way I'm so excited to show K the Queen City and just have a blast reminiscing about old times and talking about the future!

Have a great weekend!
